Brad Bartlett – Bartlett Law Practice LLC
Senior Legal Counsel
Brad has over two decades of experience working in the areas of environmental and American Indian law, and has developed a sizeable legal practice in the medical, cannabis and psychedelic legal arenas.
In the psychedelic arena, Brad represents the Netflix film production team adapting Michael Pollan’s bestseller How to Change Your Mind as well as numerous doctors, therapists and clinics developing cutting edge ketamine and cannabis assisted therapies — including the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute, The Center for Medicinal Mindfulness, and Reconscious Medical.
In the cannabis arena, Brad previously served as senior counsel at a prominent cannabis business law firm in Denver, Colorado that pioneered legal strategies for the industry. Brad currently works on a full suite of cannabis business and regulatory matters including corporate structuring, environmental, health and safety matters, state, tribal and federal (e.g. FDA and DEA) licensing, as well as conducting federal court litigation related to this emerging, and ever changing, area of law and policy.
In the environmental arena, Brad previously served as staff attorney and general counsel for national and regional conservation organizations, including the National Wildlife Federation and Western Resource Advocates. Brad is intimately familiar with U.S. environmental laws and policies – having litigated under most of our nation’s environmental statutes and worked proactively to shape Congressional legislation and agency regulations.
In the American Indian law arena, Brad’s legal docket has included litigating numerous high-profile cases on the behalf of American Indian tribal nations and tribal communities. Currently, Brad works with Tribes establishing hemp and marijuana regulatory programs, while successfully defending these programs in Federal Court.
In addition to his license to practice law in his home state of Colorado, Brad is admitted to practice in numerous U.S. Courts of Appeals, U.S. District Courts as well as state and tribal courts.
Brad is an enrolled tribal member of the Sault Ste. Marie Band of Chippewa Indians of Michigan.
