Omar Figueroa has more than twenty-six years of experience practicing cannabis law in California and is the Founder and Managing Partner of The Law Offices of Omar Figueroa, Inc. His law firm is focused on the cannabis industry and provides counsel to hemp and marijuana companies.  Omar also handles complex civil and criminal litigation.

Omar has served as a Board Member of many cannabis-related trade associations, including the International Cannabis Bar Association, the National Cannabis Industry Association, and the Cannabis Travel Association International.

A new era has arrived for psychedelics with the historic passage of psychedelic therapy initiatives, including Oregon Measure 109 and Washington, D.C. Initiative 81, in the November 2020 election.

Navigating an ever-changing regulatory landscape is a challenge for entrepreneurs in the psychedelic space. As advocates for cognitive liberty, Omar and Lauren served on the legal team for Decriminalize California, a grassroots campaign to legalize psilocybin mushrooms in the Golden State, and are involved local decriminalization efforts. They have also sat on the boards of non-profit organizations dedicated to individual liberties and drug policy reform, including the ACLU of Sonoma County and Students for Sensible Drug Policy.

Omar is also a legal author and publisher who has published a series of legal books designed to give readers a deep understanding of the laws which govern cannabis and hemp in California and New York.  These books can be found in library collections at Stanford Law School, Yale Law School, and Cal Poly Humboldt.
