Raymond Allen – Antithesis Law PC

Raymond Allen is a seasoned attorney with over two decades of experience advising purpose-driven organizations, nonprofits, and mission-focused ventures operating in highly regulated environments. Known for his expertise in corporate governance, risk management, compliance, and strategic legal structuring, Raymond brings deep legal experience to emerging and frontier industries including psychedelics, nonprofit law, and culture-driven enterprises.

As former in-house General Counsel at the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) during a pivotal period of organizational growth and late-stage clinical trials for MDMA-assisted therapy, Raymond oversaw legal, risk, and compliance functions for MAPS and its subsidiary, Lykos Therapeutics. Prior to MAPS, he served as General Counsel for Burning Man Project, where he built the legal department, helped guide the organization through its transition to a global 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and supported the Burning Man event’s evolution into a global phenomenon. 

Raymond’s practice at Antithesis Law focuses on outside/fractional general counsel services, nonprofit and exempt entity law, business formation and structure, corporate governance, ethics, fiscal sponsorship, compliance, contracts, employment, insurance and risk mitigation, and strategic legal guidance for organizations navigating complex regulatory landscapes. He is recognized for building legal infrastructure and compliance processes from the ground up and for helping clients achieve their missions in a compliant, effective, and mission-aligned manner. 

Raymond holds a J.D. from the University of California, Davis, King Hall School of Law, a Mediation Certificate from UC Davis, and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Florida, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa. He is admitted to practice law in California and before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and is active in the Psychedelic Bar Association and other professional organizations.
